
Hosam Katan
Born in Aleppo, Syria, Hosam Katan covered the conflict there as a freelance photographer between 2013 and 2015. His photographs have been published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Die Zeit, The Guardian and other media outlets. His book, “Yalla Habibi: Living with War in Aleppo,” was published in 2018. Katan currently lives in Germany, where he works as a freelance journalist, photographer and filmmaker. A recipient of numerous accolades, including the 2017 Felix Schoeller Photo Award’s “Best Work by an Emerging Photographer,” his work has been exhibited in Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris, London and New York.
