Blackburn has worked as a reporter at several community newspapers. She won numerous statewide journalism awards for her work. A graduate of St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, Blackburn has studied writing, journalism ethics, world religions and multicultural studies. Blackburn lives in her hometown of San Marcos, Texas.
