Saker El Nour
Saker El Nour is a rural sociologist and independent consultant, focusing on political ecology, food sovereignty, environmental justice and the cultural heritage and oral history of Arab countries. He co-founded the Action Network for a Just Transition in the MENA Region and regularly contributes op-ed articles and columns to independent media outlets such as Jadaliyya, Nileifo, Almanassa and Mada Masr. His notable publications include “Mrahrah Bread: The Political Economy of Food Sovereignty in Egypt” (2021) and “People and Water in Egypt: A Political Ecology Perspective” (2023), both published by Dar Sefsafa in Cairo.
