Oleksandr Polianichev is a historian of colonialism and the Russian Empire at the Centre for Baltic and East European Studies, Sodertorn University, Stockholm. He is currently working on a project that traces the global history of exotic plant transfers and Russian colonial imaginaries in the South Caucasus, funded by the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
